The programme does not start as soon as I place shoes on the holders.

The Shoefresh uses infrared sensors to detect whether there are shoes on it. Certain shoes let a lot of light through, which prevents the Shoefresh from starting automatically. The sensors also often fail to detect open shoes and shin guards. Use the Shoefresh shoe bags for shin guards and open shoes.

Lastly, it may be the case that the shoe holders have not been installed correctly. So please follow the tips below.

    • You can start the programme manually by pressing and holding down the + and - buttons at the same time for a few seconds.
    • Reinstall the shoe holders (see the section below for instructions).

    2. The programme starts without shoes on the holders

If the Shoefresh starts as soon as you plug it in (without any shoes on it) then you have not installed the shoe holders correctly. If the holders are not properly attached, the Shoefresh cannot detect whether or not shoes have been placed on the holders. Follow the steps below to reinstall the shoe holders

    • Unplug and remove both shoe holders.
    • Insert the plug into the socket (the programme will now start immediately).
    • Install the shoe holders and push them down firmly until you see two bars on the display.

The holders are now properly installed and the programme will stop within 10 seconds. The programme starts automatically once you put your shoes on the holders.

3.The fan does not work (the screen displays the "E3" code)

If the fan is no longer working, this can have two causes:

The fan is dirty and is blocked.
We recommend that you always tap out shoes properly before putting them on the Shoefresh. Over time, however, sand, dust, gravel, etc. may end up in the Shoefresh. This may cause the fan to jam at some point. You can try to remedy this yourself by vacuuming out the grate at the back of the Shoefresh with a vacuum cleaner. Or by holding the Shoefresh at an angle and shaking it and hitting it (but not too hard).

    The fan is really broken.
If cleaning the fan as described above does not help, it is most likely broken. You are not able to fix this yourself and you will have to send the Shoefresh back to us for repair. Please go to this page for more information about the warranty & repairs.

    4. The screen displays the " E1 " code

The temperature sensor is faulty. You will have to send the Shoefresh back to us so that we can check it out. Please go to this page for more information about the warranty & repairs.

    5. The screen displays the " E2 " code

The heating element is broken. You will have to send the Shoefresh back to us so that we can check it out. Please go to this page for more information about the warranty & repairs.

    6. My shoes still stink or are still wet

    Shoes still stink
The cleaning cycle is set to 5 minutes by default. This can be extended to a maximum of 10 minutes to get rid of the smell even more.

We know from experience that the smell will always fade away. But this takes some time. Every time you clean and dry your shoes on the Shoefresh the smell fades away a little bit more. That is why you can try the Shoefresh for 30 days without any obligation. Of the 1000 people who try it out 30 days, less than 0.5% return the Shoefresh.

In most cases the smell fades away from 100% down to 20-40%. This depends on how old the shoes are, the materials and the severity of the smell. The smell in the area where the shoes are kept is always completely disappears. However, if you stick your nose in the shoes to sniff them (which you normally never do), then there's always a faint smell still left...

    Shoes are still wet
How quickly shoes dry depends on a variety of factors. For example, the material of the shoe, the drying temperature used and how wet the shoes are.

    •    Set a longer drying time. You can extend the drying time to a maximum of 60 minutes.
    •    Set a higher drying temperature. Do not exceed 40 degrees Celsius for leather shoes.
    •    Check that the items are not too wet. Wring out any excess water before drying.
    •    If you need to, put your shoes on the Shoefresh one more time.

    7. The Shoefresh no longer responds at all

Follow the steps below if your Shoefresh does not react at all (e.g. screen remains black and the device will not start).

    •    Check that the plug is correctly plugged into the socket.
    •    Check that the socket is switched on if there is a switch.
    •    Try another socket.
    •    Check whether the ground circuit breaker or fuse is switched on.

Is this not helping? You will have to send the Shoefresh back to us so that we can check it out. Please go to this page for more information about the warranty & repairs.
