Why do shoes smell?
Your feet are warmly sealed in your shoes all day long. The 250,000 sweat glands in your feet produce an average of 250 ml of sweat per day. If you suffer from sweaty feet, do a lot of sports or exert yourself heavily, this is even more. Fresh sweat generally does not smell. But the warm, moist environment of your shoes is ideal for bacteria and fungi. These multiply very quickly and convert components from the sweat into smelly substances. The result: smelly shoes!
How does the Shoefresh ensure that shoes no longer stink?
The Shoefresh freshens shoes in two steps. As soon as you place the shoes on the holders, the program starts. In the first step, the shoes are cleaned by means of Active Oxygen technology. The active oxygen (ozone) removes the fungi and bacteria that cause the stench. During the second step, the Shoefresh dries the shoes from the inside out. So that all moisture / sweat is completely removed from the shoes. Within 25 minutes your shoes are fresh and dry again.
What is Active Oxygen?
Active oxygen (ozone) has a disinfecting effect and is used, for example, to purify drinking water. You can often smell ozone after a thunderstorm. The medical sector and the food industry use ozone for disinfection and other purposes. The amount of ozone released when using the Shoefresh is very small and is well below the legal maximum. In addition, the ozone decays back into oxygen within a few minutes. After cleaning, nothing remains in the shoe or in the room. The Shoefresh does not require refills.
