Are you a winter sports enthusiast through and through? If so, you're probably familiar with the problem of wet ski or snowboard boots. After a full day on the slopes, you'll naturally want to slip into a fresh pair the next morning. There's nothing more annoying than boots that are still wet from the day before. In this blog, we share the best tips for drying your winter sports gear!
Wet ski boots and snowboard boots
It's wonderful to be active on the slopes every day! But, of course, this takes its toll on your ski-, snowboard- and snowshoes. Even if they don't get wet in the snow, they'll still get damp from sweat. Winter sports boots are not breathable, so if you wear them intensively for several days, sweat from your feet will also get into your boots. If you don't let your boots dry properly, fungi and bacteria will have the perfect opportunity to take hold and cause unpleasant odours. It is therefore extremely important to take good care of your boots during your holiday. After all, you want your expensive boots to last as long as possible.
How to dry ski boots and snowboard boots?
Fortunately, there is a quick and easy way to dry your winter sports gear! The Shoefresh Opod Mini is a shoe dryer that cleans and dries your boots from the inside out. Its warm air and powerful fan ensure your ski boots are completely dry within 4–8 hours. The Opod Mini also generates active oxygen to tackle mould and bacteria. This removes any odours from your boots too. Drying your ski and snowboard boots is quick and easy with the Shoefresh Opod Mini! What's more, the Opod Mini is the most compact boot dryer on the market, so it's easy to take with you when travelling!
Step 1: Dry your ski or snowboard boots from the outside.
Do not leave wet, dirty shoes to air dry. Wipe the outside with a dry cloth so that snow cannot drip back into your shoes while they are drying.
Step 2: Remove the inner boot
Remove the inner boots from your ski boots or snowboard boots. Remove any insoles from the boots as well.
Step 3: Place the holders in your shoes.
Insert the two Opod Mini holders into each shoe. Do not push them all the way to the front of the shoe, but place them towards the back, near the heel. This allows the warm air to circulate throughout the entire shoe.
Step 4: Select the right program
Plug the Opod Mini into a power source and use the button on the control panel to select either the 4-hour or 8-hour program. We recommend selecting the 8-hour program after a full day on the slopes. This will allow your ski boots to dry overnight, leaving them dry and fresh the next morning. If your boots are not very damp, Then the 4-hour programme will suffice. The built-in timer ensures that the Opod Mini will stop automatically once the programme has finished. So you don't have to worry about a thing! If your boots are dry earlier, you can of course remove the Opod Mini sooner.
Dry ski boots, snowboard boots, gloves, socks, and helmets.
With the Shoefresh Opod Mini, you can dry not only your ski boots or snowboard boots, but also your:
• Gloves
• Socks
• Helmet
• Hiking boots
